I am far from perfect. Gosh, sometimes, I am so far from it that I question why God saved me at all. But now…..But God….The good news my friends, is my righteousness is not my righteousness at all. It is HIS. Glory to God.
“The Lord your God is in your midst, A Warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with joy; He will be quiet in His love [making no mention of your past sins], He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” Zephaniah 3:17 Amplified Bible (AMP)
When you speak of my past, when you say my past is ungodly, when you say if you told them all the things I USE TO DO, you are testifying to the work the Lord has done in me and through me. It’s testifying to His righteousness. You are giving glory to our Lord and Savior. Because I am a new creation in Christ, through Christ, by Christ, for Christ, alone. I am not who I once was, thanks be to God the Father.
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].” 2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible (AMP)
I rest in His righteousness. I find peace in His righteousness. By His stripes I have been made whole, complete, blameless, and righteous. Not by works – my best work is NOTHING to Him, it’s never worthy enough to be presented to the Almighty God – no, it’s merely acts. No works save me. I can’t be “good enough” to guarantee me a one way ticket to heaven. And I thank God for that. I thank God that He found me, in a dark cloud at the bottom of a deep pit, and He said, “I did it all for you, and honey I would do it again if I had to, just for you!” But His great sacrifice, once for all, was more than enough. He is more than enough. It is not I who lives, but He that lives in me – and that makes me righteous before the LORD Almighty.
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 – Amplified Bible (AMP)
“yet we know that a man is not justified [and placed in right standing with God] by works for the Law, but [only] through faith in [God’s beloved Son,] Christ Jesus. And even we [as Jews] have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the Law. By observing the Law no one will ever be justified [declared free of the guilt of sin and its penalty].” Galatians 2:16 Amplified Bible (AMP)
“He brought me up out of a horrible pit [of tumult and of destruction], out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock, steadying my footsteps and establishing my path.” Psalm 40:2 Amplified Bible (AMP)
But I would be lying if I said that what you told my kids didn’t hurt. It did. It does. Satan, I guess I owe you a “thank you” though. What you meant for harm, the Lord worked for good. You opened the door for me to minister to my daughter, to plant seeds, to speak life into her. I was able to speak about the Lord’s goodness, how He takes the ungodly, calls them from their darkness, makes them a new creation, transforms them. You do NOT win Satan. I stand against your schemes. You have no power over me. Glory to God, His righteousness is my righteousness.
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.” Genesis 50:20 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
“Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are line the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11 Amplified Bible (AMP)
And friend, my dear close friend, I forgive you. I forgive you. Even if you aren’t sorry, even if it hurts me, I forgive you. I know you do not know any different, you were manipulated by Satan, deceived by his evil schemes. It is not you that I contend with, it is against darkness that I must stand. I must stand firm in my faith.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places.” Ephesians 6:12 Amplified Bible (AMP)
It’s not my righteousness. It is His.
